A Couple's Engagement Photoshoot | London Photographer

I couldn’t think of a better way to start 2023 than capturing the special love story of this gorgeous pair, with an incredible Couple’s Engagement Photoshoot in London.

They got engaged near where they live in Brooklyn, New York. They set about planning a romantic getaway to London and contacted me to take their engagement photos while they were in the city.

A London Couple’s Photoshoot by Big Ben

As a starting point for any London Couple’s Engagement Photoshoot - I always ask what main London landmarks you want in your images.

And it was really important for this couple to have one by an iconic red London telephone box. And I thought we’d combine this with one of London’s most iconic landmarks - Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament.

And it just so happens there are LOTS of red telephone boxes right by Big Ben.

So we started our photoshoot in that area, taking the one picture I knew my clients wanted, and then moving on to having some photos infront of Westminster Abbey before jumping on the tube to our next top secret location!

London Couple’s Photoshoot in a romantic setting

I am a romantic at heart and I also love showing visitors to London something they have never seen before, lovely locations slightly off the beaten track.

And St Dunstans In The East is one of my favourites!

This 13th Century church was bombed beyond repair during the second world war, but instead of scrapping the beautiful, gothic windowed walls still standing, it was turned into a small public garden.

A monument to peace, London’s rich history and the blitz spirit!

It’s also incredibly romantic, looks amazing ALL year round, and one of my favourite places to take couples who want some photos around the more well-known landmark of Tower Bridge.

A London Couple’s Photoshoot Around Tower Bridge

As it so happens, that lovely little church garden is a mere 5-minute walk from the iconic Tower Bridge, which is where we headed next.

At this point we were hit with a bit of a curve ball, because the London Fire Brigade had been called to an emergency at the Tower of London, and so the area infront of the Tower (where I like to take a lot of my photos) was closed off.

Thankfully that gave me a chance to fit in a sneaky visit to another one of my favourite secret locations, St Katharine’s Docks. This little oasis of calm is tucked away to the left of the bridge behind some rather ugly and imposing buildings.

An alleyway covered in colourful murals leads right to the docks themselves - where London’s wealthier residents dock their yachts and pleasure boats.

As well as some unique views of London, there are also some lovely cafes and restaurants around that area, and it is the perfect place to unwind with a lovely meal (and a tipple or two of your favourite beverage!) after our photoshoot.

Once we’d had some fun in this area, we crossed Tower bridge itself and finished off with some photos infront of the famous London icon, before saying our farewells!

How did they feel about their London Couples Engagement Photoshoot?

I think you can tell by now just how excited I get about each and every photoshoot I do and JUST how important it is to me that you love your photos as much as I do!

So when this lovely lady emailed me back within minutes of receiving her photos telling me just how much she loved them, I did more than one happy dance around my kitchen!

But there is no need to take my word for it! Just a few days later she took the time to leave this public review for me on Google:

“My fiancé and I are from Brooklyn, NY and were going to be in London for vacation. I found Kirsty through a Google search but had a good feeling after visiting her website and instagram. She exceeded my expectations! Not only did the photos turn out incredible, but she also turned around the edited photos within 24 hours! She also went over our 1 hour session so we could get the best photos of the various areas in London.

My fiancé HATES taking photos, it's a battle and I was bracing for the worst LOL. However, he was smiley and laughing and truly enjoyed the process. We had such an incredible morning.

Please do yourself a favor and book Kirsty for your next photoshoot! She knows what she's doing. I wish she lived in NY so she could photograph my wedding.”
