For me summer has become almost synonymous with flowering lavender which can be found in abundance at the Mayfield Lavender Farm in Banstead.
I first visited this gorgeous location three years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. We've been ever summer since and I can almost chart my children's growth among these beautiful blooms.
Gorgeous photography location
Because it has such a special significance to me, it has become one of my favourite places to photograph my families.
I spent most of last weekend there with some absolutely lovely families, you can see some of them featured in the video above.
Magical family photographs
The lavender certainly does provide a gorgeous backdrop for photographs, but what makes these special is the love and connection, the unique bonds and relationships that all these lovely people have with one another.
Would you like some magical family photos? I'm taking bookings for summer sunset sessions throughout August and am opening bookings for my Autumn sessions in October and November. Contact me now to snap up yours today.
This sweet baby girl turned one over the weekend and she celebrated with all her family and friends.
She handled the whole party in style, insisting on drinking from a champagne glass, making sure she tried on everyone's hats and smiling and laughing with anyone who picked her up for a cuddle.
She wasn't too sure how to blow out her birthday candles, but she knew exactly who that cake was for... her dad. She decided he needed feeding and she made sure to dig out the very best bits of her beautifully baked, homemade cake for him!
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Ava about a month before her birthday, in Greenwich, where I photographed her gorgeous family.
She smiled and laughed the whole way through our session (despite not having had a nap that day) and was just as happy and playful on her big birthday. Ava is just pure joy, I wish her and her lovely family all the very best - she has an exciting second year ahead of her!
London is a vibrant, living map of the memories that tell the story of my adult life. As a photographer, I get freeze pieces of those places in time, so I don’t forget parts of my journey. I’d love to do the same for you and your familyRead More

Dads - after countless shoots, I know that for most of you a family photoshoot is not top of your list of things to do, but I just want you to stop for a minute and think about what your children are going to remember about you and their childhood in years to come.
Will they remember the tickle fights, being thrown in the air, the hugs and cuddles over scraped knees, stories at bedtime or the silly impromptu games you always play?
Will they remember the love in your eyes, the feel of your strong arms around them or the feeling that they are flying, perched high up on your shoulders?
Photography is an investment
Memories matter and I firmly believe that family photography is an investment in your future, a tangible record of who you are and where you are, right now.
And dads when you book a photoshoot with me, you don't even have to look at the camera if you don't want to. I just need you to play with your kids, the same way you do every single day - and occasionally wrap your arms around your partner (that awesome person you fell in love with, all those years ago).
To celebrate all those great dads out there in the run up to Father's Day, I am offering a free framed 12"x8" fine art print for anyone booking a family photography session for any time this year, with me, before June 17.
I still have a few sunset sessions available this month and am taking bookings for July right through the summer.

It's no secret that I love photographing families, nothing gives me greater joy than capturing the special relationships you have with your children on camera. And this fun-filled winter family session over the weekend was no exception.
Gorgeous, natural family photos - whatever the weather
Whenever I have an outdoor session coming up, I can get a bit obsessive about watching the various weather reports, especially if it's a golden hour shoot just before sunset. But if there is one thing I have learned, it is that you can never really predict exactly what the weather is going to do!
When we arrived at the park there was lots of lovely dramatic cloud cover and a beautiful even light which lends itself beautifully to lovely portraits. We were also lucky enough to have the sun break through the clouds in a gorgeous sunburst, on the horizon just before sunset. Somewhere inbetween we were also treated to a very brief ice-storm where we were pelted with small hailstones, but thankfully that was very shortlived!
Feeling a little camera-shy? Not a problem during my sessions
I had the best time doing this session, this lovely family were up for having a good time - despite the chill! But their lovely little girl was a bit camera-shy. And it can be quite intimidating to have a stranger point a big camera in your face. But this wasn't a problem because we spent a lot of time playing. We threw leaves in the air, jumped over fallen tree trunks, ran, jumped and twirled and, of course, this lovely little lady had lots of snuggles with mum and dad.
Family photography matters
Of course, you don't have to take my word for it, because what really matters is not what I think of the photos, it is what the family thinks. This is what Sam had to say about the session: "Love them!!! Thank you so much! Couldn’t recommend you enough! You have a true talent with a camera and also getting a slightly reluctant 3 yr old and her Dad to engage!!!"

Every time I pick up my camera, I'm very conscious of the fact that I am capturing precious memories. Memories of you and your children, as you are, right now. And mums, those memories really matter, have a look around your home, through your albums and on your phone, I bet you have lots of photos of your children but how many of your family photos do you appear in?
I hope there are many, because as well as being precious to you, those memories are going to be precious to your children too in years to come. Whether you work, or stay at home, are doing it all on your own or have tons of support, whether there are just two or ten in your family, you are the heart and centre of that very special unit. You are necessary, irreplaceable and very loved by those little people you have made. And as they grow, as well as seeing photos of themselves and remembering happy or fun times, they will want to see photos of you laughing and loving them, just as you do every single day (even the very hard ones!)
I make a point of taking as many photos as I can of each individual parent with their children during our sessions. And what I really want to show is what you see in these few examples on this page here, that the relationship you have with your children is precious, it's unique and the love you have for them knows no bounds.

I guess you are having a little me time, browsing through the internet while your little ones are otherwise engaged (or even in bed). But I just want you to stop for a moment because they are growing up far too quickly aren't they? Soon they'll be so much bigger than they are now, so take a moment to think, what is it about them that you love, right now?Read More
