And to prove it, I dragged my kids out of bed at 6am last weekend and headed to Tower Bridge to capture an incredible sunrise.

And I did it all with my mobile phone.

Why did I choose sunrise for this particular challenge?

I really wanted to see how my mobile phone camera dealt with capturing images in a low light situation. And I was really impressed with how the photos turned out!

I’ll definitely be framing a few.

I have to admit my kids were a lot more cooperative than I thought they would be.

Getting to run around a deserted London in what felt like the dead of night was clearly a very exciting adventure.

And the rest of our excursion was fuelled by endless muffins and lots of hot chocolate!

I also went out by myself a few days later and spent a couple of hours around St Paul’s Cathedral taking photos with my mobile phone.

There are a lot of tourists in that area, all taking the same photos with fancy cameras. And I wanted to show you that capturing compelling images is more about the photographer than the camera you have.

How much does your mobile phone photography course cost?

My Mobile Phone Photography course lasts from 10am to 2:30pm and costs £120. That includes snacks, beverages and lunch, as well as workbooks to take home AND a bonus PDF on creative composition.
