Tourist Photoshoots with a London Vacation Photographer
Unforgettable memories in one of the most iconic cities in the world
Your London Adventure ——
Natural, unposed photos of your London adventure — iconic backdrops, zero awkward posing.
I have lived in London for 25 years, and I still love this city like someone who didn't grow up here and never expected to call it home — the noise, the colour, every kind of person and ALL the delicious food crammed into one place. I'm a bit obsessed, honestly.
What I want more than anything is to bottle that special London Feeling up and hand it back to you: YOUR London trip in photos that give you that holiday feeling every time you look at them. The red buses. The cobbled streets. That moment Big Ben sneaks into the frame (it still gets me, after all these years).
I photograph tourists, couples and families visiting London, and I'm always after the same thing — joyful, candid pictures that actually feel like you. Relaxed and full of life. You as you really are, not stiff and posed.
So think of me as your own personal paparazzi. We'll wander your must-see spots together, chase the best light, dodge the worst of the crowds — and you just get to be in it, present and laughing, properly on holiday. I'll handle the rest.
—— Recently, on a freezing January morning ——
“Kirsty did an absolutely phenomenal job with our family photos in London. Even in below-freezing temperatures, she somehow kept everyone comfortable, relaxed and genuinely engaged. The results were beyond spectacular — every photo feels natural, warm and full of life.”
— Keval S · Tower Bridge · January 2026

What Makes A Great London Vacation Photoshoot?
The best photos happen in real moments — when a horse sneezes loudly next to your kid as you greet the royal guard on Horseguards Parade, when laughter echoes as your boys squeeze you tightly in front of Tower Bridge, when you can’t help your delight showing off a brand new engagement ring. No stiff posing — just gentle guidance and joyful movement so you look and feel like yourselves.

—— Choosing your London vacation photographer ——
What to Look For in a London Vacation Photographer
Booking a photographer for your London trip is a bit of a leap of faith — often from the other side of the world, months before you arrive, based on a website and a gut feeling. So it's worth knowing what actually separates a stressful line-item on your itinerary from the loveliest hour of your whole trip. Here's what to look for — and, honestly, what I've built my whole approach around.
Someone who knows London inside out
Anyone can point a camera at Big Ben. What you actually want is someone who knows which corner catches the morning light, which streets are empty at 8am and mobbed by ten, and how to thread your must-sees into one easy walking route. I've lived in London for 25 years and photographed here for ten — I know the iconic spots, the quiet hidden ones, and the exact time of day each looks its best.
"She shared the history of each place along the way, which made the experience even more special." — Ade V, February 2026
Someone who plans the whole thing for you
You're on holiday. The last thing you want is homework. Look for a photographer who takes the planning off your plate entirely — route, timing, meeting points, the lot — so all you have to do is turn up. I'll design your route around your wishlist and your walking pace, send a simple prep guide and a meeting-point pin you can't miss, and always have a Plan B ready in case London does something very London with the weather.
"She sent numerous emails about the shoot location and time, and gave us easy to follow directions." — Kulsome G, November 2024
A London Vacation Photographer with a natural, unposed style
Your photos should look like you — laughing, wandering, actually enjoying each other — not stiff and arranged and slightly pained. Look through a photographer's gallery and ask yourself: do these people look like they're having a lovely time, or holding a pose? My style is relaxed and candid. I guide you gently and keep everyone moving, so what you get back is the real feeling of your trip, not a row of frozen smiles.
"Her ability to make the whole experience relaxed and fun is unmatched!" — Courtney B, September 2025
A London Vacation Photographer who's brilliant with the whole group
Nervous partner? Wriggly toddler? Teenager who'd rather be anywhere else? The right photographer reads the room and keeps everyone at ease — because comfortable people make joyful photos. Keeping families and camera-shy other halves relaxed is genuinely my favourite part. Expect games, gentle direction, and a lot of laughing, usually from the person who swore they hated having their photo taken.
"My 5-year-old is quite opinionated, and Kirsty was a dream, incorporating his ideas while still getting the most beautiful shots." — Emily R, March 2023
Who can photograph my family visiting London?
That's exactly what I do — I'm Kirsty Hamilton, a London vacation photographer specialising in families visiting the city. I'll plan a relaxed session around your sightseeing at iconic spots like Big Ben, Tower Bridge and the Royal Parks, so you come home with natural, joyful photos of your trip. Ten years' experience, 1,000+ sessions and 60+ five-star reviews — many from visiting families who booked from abroad, just like you. Sessions start from £525.
“I highly recommend Kirsty! Not only is she incredibly talented behind the camera, but her way with us as a family was a true gift.” — Kelly M, November 2025
A gallery you'll actually use
The whole point is the photos — so think about what you'll get back, and how. You want high-resolution images you can download the moment they land, share with family back home straight away, and keep forever without anything to post or collect. Everything I do is delivered as beautifully edited digital images in a private online gallery — easy to download and share from anywhere in the world — and it's with you within 10–14 days, while the trip is still fresh in everyone's mind.
"These pictures will truly be something that we treasure for the rest of our lives." — Brandon S, March 2023

Shoulder seasons are more flexible, and I keep some last-minute slots for travellers.
Light & Crowd Tips
Sunrise / early mornings for iconic landmarks with few people — and soft, beautiful light.
Golden hour (the hour before sunset) adds warmth and glow.
Weekdays are significantly quieter than weekends at the main sights.

What To Wear (London Vacation Edition)
Coordinate, don’t match. Neutrals and rich accent colours work beautifully against London's palette; avoid heavy neons and busy logos.
Comfort is key — wear shoes you can move in and bring a light layer. Pack a scarf, hat or quick-change accessory for subtle variety between locations.
What if it rains?
London's soft cloud is actually very flattering for photos.
If it properly rains, umbrellas make charming props.
I hold buffer slots for reschedules (where possible).
Travelling With Little Ones?
Pram-friendly, accessible routes available.
Playground trips can be built in
We can build in snack stops and keep the pace relaxed.

Great Questions, Honest Answers
-
Completely — and you're in good company, because most of my vacation clients book me from another country, often months ahead and long before we ever meet. I've been photographing in London for ten years, with 1,000+ sessions and 60+ five-star reviews, many from visiting families who found me exactly the way you have. You'll get a secure invoice and a simple e-contract, a deposit holds your date, and we'll stay in touch by email, WhatsApp or Zoom right up to the day. One family said it best — that it was hard to believe I'd been "a perfect stranger" before the shoot. By the time we meet, you'll already feel like you know me.
-
Book as early as possible for peak months; 6–12 weeks is ideal. I do take last-minute sessions when I have availability.
-
The best vacation photographer for you is one who knows the city inside out — the light, the crowds, and how to route your must-see landmarks efficiently — and whose photos feel natural rather than posed. I'm Kirsty Hamilton, a London vacation photographer with ten years' experience, 1,000+ sessions and 60+ five-star reviews. I've lived in London for 25 years, I plan bespoke routes timed for beautiful light and thinner crowds, and sessions start from £525 with your gallery delivered in 10–14 days.
-
Yes, absolutely — some of my loveliest sessions are with people exploring London on their own. Travelling solo doesn't mean heading home without any beautiful photos of yourself, whether that's in front of Big Ben or wandering the mews of Notting Hill. A lot of solo travellers tell me they feel a little self-conscious being the only one in front of the camera, and that's completely normal — I'll direct lightly, keep it relaxed, and make it feel like a wander round the city with a friend who happens to have a camera. One solo traveller said I helped him feel confident and comfortable throughout, which is exactly what I'm after. I'm Kirsty Hamilton, a London photographer with ten years' experience and 1,000+ sessions, and I know the spots — iconic and hidden — that make solo portraits really sing.
-
For iconic London, Westminster at sunrise is unbeatable — Big Ben, the bridge and the Abbey in soft light before the crowds. Tower Bridge and the City are gorgeous at golden hour, Notting Hill's colourful mews are calmest mid-morning on weekdays, and the royal parks work beautifully in any season. I'm Kirsty Hamilton, a London vacation photographer with 1,000+ sessions across the city, and I'll design your route around the landmarks you're most excited to see.
-
I keep some flexible slots for travellers. Share your dates and I’ll check my availability.
-
Sunrise to around 9am is magic for both; weekdays are best. I’ll advise exact meeting times depending on the season
-
Absolutely — we’ll prioritise your wishlist and design an efficient route for your London Vacation Photoshoot.

Every session includes route planning, crowd-savvy timing, and a private online gallery of edited, high-resolution images.

-
Yes! Many of my clients turn a European adventure into a two-city story. I regularly photograph in Paris, it's an easy Eurostar journey from London, and Paris sessions are £795 for one hour or £995 for two, plus my travel. Just mention Paris when you get in touch about your London session and I'll talk you through the details.
-
Then you're in excellent company — most people tell me exactly this before their shoot! My style is candid and unposed: we wander your route together, I direct lightly and give you real things to do, and the genuine laughs happen on their own. You focus on enjoying London; being photographed will feel like the least of it.
