A romantic proposal photoshoot in London's famous Notting Hill

Planning a surprise proposal in Notting Hill? The best spots for a romantic proposal photoshoot in London's famous neighbourhood — and how I keep the secret safe.

Like any child of the 90s, I have a deep set nostalgia for certain British romcoms set in Notting Hill. So when I was asked to photograph a romantic proposal photoshoot in London’s famous Notting Hill area, I couldn’t say YES! fast enough.

Is Notting Hill a good place for a romantic proposal photoshoot in London?

This gorgeous couple was holidaying in the UK and my lovely client was captivated by the idea of a romantic proposal photoshoot in London’s Notting Hill.

While this area has lots of colourful houses and gorgeous little mews, it can be a tricky place to arrange a surprise proposal photoshoot.

The famous Portobello Road market is too busy to make a good proposal location and the houses and mews are residential, and the views of them can often be blocked by cars.

However, the picturesque Holland Park with the beautiful Kyoto Garden is nearby and is the perfect location for a romantic proposal photoshoot in London.

So we decided to capture the proposal there, and then wander into Notting Hill for some colourful engagement photos.

How do you plan a romantic proposal photoshoot in London?

A lot of my clients come from different countries, and many have never been to our city before. So it can be a bit daunting to plan the perfect proposal photoshoot in London.

If this sounds like you, then don’t worry! I have got your back.

Once we have decided on the perfect location for your romantic London Proposal photoshoot, I’ll send you some map links, showing you the exact location.

I’ll also send over a video so you can see the area in real time and know exactly where you have to go and where to take a knee, so I can capture this once-in-a-lifetime moment for you!

Can we have engagement photos after our proposal photoshoot in London?

Once that nerve-wracking moment is over and your partner has (finally) said YES! It is a great time to take some engagement photos.

As you can see from this gorgeous couple, you are generally both buzzing with the excitement of it all, and all that joy and happiness makes for some really special memories of your big moment.

How many locations can we visit for engagement photos after our proposal photoshoot in London?

The number of locations you can visit after your proposal photoshoot in London very much depends on how long you have booked me for.

I offer three different time bookings for proposal photoshoots in London:

  1. A 30-minute photoshoot (£525): perfect if you just want your proposal captured with a couple of engagement photos afterwards. Available Tuesday to Thursday, with one beautiful background.

  2. A 1-hour photoshoot (£695 on weekdays, £795 at weekends): my most popular option — available any day of the week, and the perfect amount of time for the proposal plus engagement photos around one location, with a variety of backgrounds.

  3. A 2-hour photoshoot: for couples who really want to show off what London has to offer. It extends from the 1-hour session, with extra half-hours at £100 each, and we can visit up to three different locations — major London landmarks included.

A £175 deposit secures your date, the balance is due a week before the shoot, and your full gallery of edited images arrives within 10–14 days — sooner than you can finish telling everyone the story.
