A couple's holiday photoshoot in London AND Paris | Vacation Photographer
When you are looking forward to an extra special anniversary, there really is only ONE way to celebrate - plan an epic holiday to London and Paris, and book your own personal paparazzi to capture your love story in these two iconic cities!
As you can guess that is pretty much exactly what this gorgeous duo did.
To say that I loved these two photoshoots is an understatement.
Photographing these two was one of the highlights of 2023.
What can I expect from a holiday photoshoot in London and Paris?
If you are booking me for a holiday photoshoot in London and Paris, contacting me as early as possible is KEY.
I’ll need to get your dates in my diary and also book my travel to Paris as early as possible. I travel to Paris via the Eurostar as it is the easiest and most convenient way to get there from London.
The earlier you book your Eurostar tickets, the cheaper the trip. Prices vary from as little as £39 one way (if you book four months or more in advance) right up to £195 one way (if you are booking the day before you travel, for example).
For this particular holiday photoshoot in London and Paris, we did the London photoshoot first and the Paris photoshoot the very next day.
This couple wanted as many different London sites in their photos as possible. So they opted for a 3-hour photoshoot, starting across the river from the iconic Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster.
It was one of the sunniest days of the year. And it also happened to be the day that parliament opened.
So we got caught up in the royal procession between Buckingham Palace and The Houses of Parliament. While it did limit our photo options in that area, it was a lovely unexpected sight for this couple and so we hung around a bit so they could soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the pomp and circumstance.
From there we hopped on the tube to take in the gorgeous atmosphere at St Dunstans In The East before heading over to Tower Bridge.
Because the couple were staying in one of London’s most beautiful hotels, we absolutely had to finish our London photoshoot in and around the majestic St Pancras Rennaisance Hotel (yes it’s THAT hotel, where they filmed Harry Potter - and that epic Spice Girls video!)
The Paris leg of our photoshoot was the very next day.
So early the next morning, I was on the Eurostar to Paris. I always like to make sure that I am as organised as possible for my holiday photoshoots in London and Paris, so I arrived in Paris an hour before the couple did.
I already knew which route I wanted to take them on, but being there early gave me plenty of time to do a quick location scout and make sure I had all the best views of the city for our time together.
This time we opted to start our photoshoot at the couple’s Paris hotel, because they had picked another gorgeous place to stay.
Their room from the Hôtel La Comtesse Tour Eiffel had one of the best views of the Eiffel Tower I’ve seen and so of course we made the most of it!
Our time in Paris was limited and as many of the best views in Paris lie along the Seine, we opted to walk from the hotel towards the Pont Alexandre III bridge over the Seine, via some epic views of the Hôtel National des Invalides.
From there we made our way through the Tulieries Gardens, where we had to take shelter during a brief unexpected rain shower.
Alongside the Eiffel Tower, no visit to Paris is complete without at least looking at the incredible architecture of the Louvre, which we had a lot of fun photographing, despite the crowds, before finishing our photoshoot at a picturesque cafe overlooking the Seine.
Do I have to book a holiday photoshoot in London to have a holiday photoshoot in Paris?
Although I am based in London, there is no need to have a London photoshoot as well as one in Paris. I am more than happy to just do a photoshoot in Paris.
You will still have to pay for my travel to the city via the Eurostar in addition to the cost of the photoshoot. As mentioned above, this is cheaper the more in advance it is booked. The lowest priced tickets on offer this year are £39 for a one way ticket booked four months in advance. Whereas a ticket for tomorrow (for example) currently costs £195 one way.
How much does a holiday photoshoot in London and Paris cost?
If you are booking a holiday photoshoot in London and Paris, you pay for each photoshoot separately.
For your London photoshoot you can choose to book a 30 minute mini session, a one-hour photoshoot or a 2.5 to 3 hour photoshoot, depending on how many locations you want to visit. London photoshoots start at £395.
Here is the breakdown of costs for Paris photoshoots:
A one or two hour photoshoot (contact me for pricing)
Eurostar return ticket to Gare du Nord (prices can vary according to how far in advance the ticket is booked, I will always go for the most reasonable option)
If booking a sunrise photoshoot there is an additional £120 charge to cover accommodation, as I will have to stay over the night before.
