Here are my top picks for the best locations for a London Photoshoot.
The best iconic locations for a London Photoshoot
Most of my lovely holiday-making clients want their photos in the most iconic London locations.
This of course is a good option if you want friends and family to be in no doubt that you had an epic holiday in one of the most wonderful cities in the world.
There are two locations which are consistently the most popular with those who want an iconic location for their London Photoshoot.
Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament: The best location for a London Photoshoot
Last year, I photographed more than 100 families and couples and the area around Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament was by far the most popular request for a London photoshoot.
It’s a great choice, especially for my 30-minute mini sessions which can include views of Big Ben from across the river Thames and also red telephone boxes around Parliament Square.
One-hour photoshoots in this area allows for more variety in the background, as not only can you get photos of the iconic clock tower, but your photoshoot can also include the London Eye and views from the Southbank over the river Thames.
Or, we can walk through St James’s Park and also get views of Buckingham Palace
Or swing via Horseguards Parade and get some photos in Trafalgar Square - another iconic London location.
Tower Bridge: the best location for an iconic London Photoshoot
The second most popular location for a photoshoot is the area around the beautiful and distinctive Tower Bridge and Tower of London.
This is a great choice for a one-hour photoshoot because you can have your photoshoot from either the north or south bank side of the bridge.

If you choose to have your photoshoot on the north bank, your photoshoot can also include the beautiful St Dunstan’s In the East.
Or stick to the south bank and we can walk to the bustling Borough Market and take photos along the river as we explore!
Right! So that is the two most popular locations for a London Photoshoot dealt with. If neither of those are quite what you are looking for how about:
St Pauls Cathedral - a great location for a London Photoshoot
This option is popular for my mid-week 30-minute mini sessions and is a wonderful choice in the Spring or summer, as the garden around the famous St Paul’s Cathedral is awash with wisteria, roses and other beautiful seasonal flowers.
Many of my clients who wish to have a longer 2 to 3 hour photoshoot like to include St Paul’s Cathedral in their photoshoot.

But it works well for a one-hour photoshoot as well. There are some beautiful and unique views of the iconic building as well as some lovely local parks nearby, not to mention the famous Millennium Bridge across the River Thames, which make’s for some fantastic photos.
Covent Garden - a beautiful location for a London Photoshoot
Covent Garden is another popular location for a mini photoshoot (especially around Christmas!), or for those who want a longer 2 to3 hour photoshoot with me and like the vibrancy this location offers.
Early morning is the best time around this location for a London Photoshoot as that is when it is less busy and crowded and we can get wonderful photos without too many people in the background.
Shoreditch - a vibrant location for a London Photoshoot
Last year I did a number of photoshoots around Shoreditch and it really is a fantastic location for a London Photoshoot, especially if you are a fan of street art.
Shoreditch boasts beautiful artwork from a number of famous street artists including Banksy, , Oliver Switch, Mr Cenz, Busk, Ninth Seal, Hicks, Dr Zadok, Hunto, Thoms, Captain Kris, Tizer and Best Ever.
This is another area that can be included in a longer 2 to 3 hour photoshoot.
Notting Hill - one of the best locations for a London Photoshoot
If you’re a fan of the film, it doesn’t get better than a photoshoot around Notting Hill for your London photoshoot.
This location is best visited in Spring and early summer for photos which include London’s incredible floral displays. I don’t offer photoshoots in this area on the weekends, it is simply too crowded to get good photos.
So plan a visit early one morning on a week day if you want photos in Notting Hill for your London Photoshoot.
Is a park the best location for a London photoshoot?
Outside of the main city sites, a large majority of my bookings take place in one of London’s gorgeous parks.
And these are a great location for a London photoshoot if you really want some seasonal images of your visit.
I personally think that Regent’s Park is the best location for a Spring or Summer photoshoot (of course it looks good in the Autumn too!)
And I would also recommend St James’s Park and it’s lovely vibrant flower bed displays as a good option for a photoshoot in the Spring or Summer.
For Autumn, I love Richmond Park at sunset and also Hyde Park for beautiful reds, golds and orange leaves.
St James’s Park is again a great choice for Autumn photos, especially the area around Buckingham Palace.
These are the main locations that many of my families and couples go for, but this list is by no means exhaustive!
I have done some fantastic photoshoots in Greenwich (which has a wonderful park and boasts incredible views of London from the Greenwich Observatory, its one of the best locations for a south east London photoshoot).
Richmond, both the park and the town with its picturesque walkways is a fantastic location for a London photoshoot if you don’t mind straying a bit further from the centre of the city.
And if you can’t get enough of the city, then the buildings and shopping areas around Mayfair and Oxford Street are also wonderful options.
